My grandmother, Maria, was a twin. I don't have her original Italian birth
record (only an extract), but I know that they do mention on these records
that the baby is a twin. I seem to recall seeing at least one where the
birth record for the live twin mentioned that the other twin was stillborn.
There may not have been a record for the other twin.
Anyway, I gave the stillborn twin the name '[Maria's twin]'. And since I set
the Child's Status to 'Stillborn Twin', the following appears in the
children's list in Family View: '[Maria's twin] MATARRESE (1891-1891)
(Stillborn Twin)'. The child's status does not appear in the master name
list, but you can search on it.
BTW, another set of twins named Maria and Teresa were born 2 years earlier.
I don't have their death records, but obviously Maria lived for less than 2
years, and there is no record of Teresa surviving childhood. These were hard
times.

They are in a family history volume that I have, and
reference both birth and death certificates in
courthouse records in a named county and state.
I do not have the actual birth and death certificates
yet, but will try to obtain them soon.
I found it odd that there were source records, too,
since they are from early 1900's and that wasn't
usually the case then.
On the stillborn children, I do not have records of,
or sources to these other than a family account in the
family history volume.
Sorry if it came across that I had records on both,
record of proof is only for the sets of twins. I got
my thoughts all jumbled up when typing it out.

If I don't have a name, I use "Infant Boy" or Infant
Girl". They are
obviously separate persons, having different birth
dates.
For twins, you might want to use "Infant Boy Twin"
etc.
BTW how do you know about the stillborn children, is
this from family
knowledge or do some countries register these
births?
