Has Legacy corrupted files with previous releases? Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: Jane Fabiano-Turner To: LegacyUserGroup@legacyfamilytree.com Sent: Monday, November 05, 2007 7:51 PM Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Version 7
I don’t want my file corrupted. I am glad to wait! This is a GOOD thing. It means for a more stable product once it is released. At least it was my understanding that during the recent cruise folks on that cruise were going to get a sneak peek at version 7. I could be wrong though, because I haven't heard ANYONE talk about anything they saw on the cruise (demo or hands on). Unless Legacy had everyone sign a "confidentiality agreement" (or whatever they are called) so no one is allowed to talk about it . . . Anyway, version 6 is still a very good and stable version. Time will tell about version 7. I'd rather have them take their time and release a good version rather than rush it out to the public and then have to make a bunch of patches. Version 7. If you (like me) are anxious for news, FYI, here is their reply: Denise ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Legacy Customer Service [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 29, 2007 6:44 PM To: 'Denise Levenick' Subject: RE: Legacy Upgrade Dear Denise, We're sorry to say that version 7 has not yet released. Believe me, everyone is anxious! Creating software is similar to building a house; if the plumber doesn't finish his work (perhaps he's waiting for a part) then the folks that install the insulation and sheetrock have to wait and down the line it goes. You should probably do as you suggest, "just continue with 6 and pretend that I haven’t heard anything". Thank you for your patience and understanding! There was much discussion in Sept about this new version, and that it would probably be available after the Legacy Cruise. I see that the cruise ship has docked and everyone is back to daily life (I assume). What is the news with Legacy 7? There seemed to be a general consensus that the new features would make data entry much easier, so I have postponed quite a bit of entry work in anticipation of the time-saving features of this new version. Do you have any kind of timetable for the release of this upgrade; or, perhaps, I should just continue with 6 and pretend that I haven’t heard anything?
