Well, as any family historian knows - when they start, the records are collected, and then begin to pile up. At some point, there needs to be "get the records, sources straight" and properly sourced. Well that time has arrived.
I have purchased "Evidence Explained," cleaned the family file from errors and trimmed it down to be just those that have a relationship. I am getting confused as to how to use the Evidence Explained and Legacy sourcing. I will use a birth certificate as an example. Source List name is - Virginia Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics Author is - Virginia Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics Title is - Certificate of Live Birth Publication facts is - Richmond, Virginia Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics, 1975. Detail is - Certificate of Live Birth No. No. 99999999-99 Thus the entry appears as " Virginia. Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics, Certificate of Live Birth (Richmond, 1975), birth certificate 145-70-009333 (1975)." Is this the best way to get it close to Evidence?
