It wasn't exactly a 'simple' computer crash, as I couldn't get out of it without turning off at the main power box, shutting off many programs at one time. Reboot didn't help. System restore didn't help. I fixed everything by overwriting any changed files (from my last backup 2 hours previous) to the Legacy folder. Everything straightened out. Thanks.

Depending on the date the restore point was created, running that will remove anything that was installed or updated after that date, and can easily screw other items up.
