I don't use much of anything that I don't trust.... in other words, I "tend"
to trust the Latter Day Saints Baptism of the dead records. Why? I know some Mormons
and they want to know that an individual lived before they waste their time baptizing an
air pocket.

One I got back into Biblical realms, I used the Bible. I personally believe
that's more accurate than Courthouse records.

The Hebrews were taught to memorize their heritage. There are Hebrew lines that came
through Scotland, Ireland and other British isles. Therefore, I'm sure they were taught
to keep some kind of records of their heritage.... If I tell my grandchildren that
their g-g-g-grand parents were Simon Peter Snurr and Ella Ora Gunkle, then I'm sure
they'll "know" that these people actually lived.

Likewise, the Israelites did the same, and eventually documents these roots...
and after they left Israel for the north, they continued to keep records of
some kind.

Just as a matter of curosity....WHERE do you find documented records for
ancestors in this time period and earlier as some have commented they have? I
would have assumed most records would have been oral history back then!
