Hi, Ron -- I know about marking people "private" but I was hoping for
something more streamlined than doing them one by one. Maybe I can do a
search/tag and mark the search list private?

You can, of course, mark them "Private" in which case they will not be
shown as "Private" with no details, provided "show private events" is
not selected when compiling reports. There is a box for this on the
Individual Screen.

I know it's possible to supress details for living people and change

name to "living." Is it possible to just not export anything about them
at all by clicking a box, or can this only be done by search/tag?
