Brenda,

I got the same error, I'm on XP. I went to Tools/ Potential Problems then
the Standardisation tab. Unchecked the bottom option, "Surname entered in
all uppercase" and it went away. I don't know if it will work for you. I had
a reason for doing it at the time but can't remember what my thinking was
now.

  Regards,
  Dave (NZ)

Subject: [LegacyUG] Run-time error 3260

I am running Windows Vista, Legacy 7, build 7.0.0.45.  Upgraded from 6.0;
installed over version 6 (did not create a new folder).

I decided to run a "Potential Problems" report. It gets about halfway
through and I get: "Run-time error 3260: could not update; currently locked
by user 'admin' on machine 'xxxxxx'" (NOTE: 'xxxxx' is the name of my
computer).

I checked Legacy's site for this run-time error and did not find it. I ran
a repair of the database and there were a couple of minor problems that were
fixed. Ran the "Potential Problems" report again and again got the run-time
error message.

This "smells" of a Vista permissions problem, but I'm not sure. Is there
anyone out there who could shed some light on this?
