Let me try again and be more specific with my question.
This question is independent of the method for entering sources.
I am using the freebmd website as the master source.
My question is about the detail information which has 2 components
the source detail reference information "source (list) detail" and b) the
text that I transcribe from the entry "actual source text".
An example
Deaths Mar 1886 Smith John Tipton 6c 255
would I put (volume) 6c (page) 255 as the source list detail
or
Deaths Mar 1886 (location) Tipton as the source list detail
