I think he's just looking for a raw list without being taken through the actual merge process.

You should be able to get to that by clicking on PRINT instead of CONTINUE on that first screen. In other words:
Tools, Merge, Find Dups
Click your backup option on next dialog box
On the MERGE OPTIONS screen, instead of clicking CONTINUE, click PRINT.
You can "print" (save) it to a PDF file or to your printer

It's kind of like having a purple car and saying, gee, I'd rather have a purple car. The merge function in Legacy IS the list of possible duplicates. I wouldn't know where to start using the Search tool.
