That would depend on the publication date of the book and the copyright laws 
where published. In the U.S. copyrights have an expiration date. Different 
countries may vary.

Adding the photos you took would be fine...reproducing the photos from the 
book is most likely a violation of copyright and I wouldn't advise using 
them except for your personal use (i.e. not passed along to family or put on 
the web).
