I have not seen any issues either. I cold understand it if perhaps it was a very early XP computer or even a previous Windows 98 or 2000 machine that was upgraded to XP and was really at the bottom end of hardware specs. Anything bought within the last few years shold be fine. I have IE7 on my 5+ year old laptop and no slowdowns.
