Paul, Have you tried doing a File>File Maintenance a few times straight after each other? Also shutting down your PC overnight sometimes helps to overcome the problem (you may do this already but if you are like me then you don't).

I am running XP SP3 and have tried the solution given, however the update is unnecessary as I have SP3 installed. L7 will start OK but the problem occurs when trying to open any .fdb file. I have uninstalled & reinstalled L7 on several occasions but still no joy. Any more ideas anyone?
