It does use Ibid. when you tick to do so on the Options>Customize>Sources. However, you may be using the new Source Writer and there are some problems with citations of that which I believe are being corrected in the next update. For most reports, the Basic Source system does not present the problem of failing to cite different detail for a repeated source on a subsequent fact.

What you have described as multiple sources for different facts is not what Dave was asking. He was asking if you have a source that gives the birth information on two different pages why you couldn't have two citations of the same source with different detail.

Dave: I understand what you are trying to say. I too use a book to source different information on various pages. You are right, version 6 use to show, for example the birth source in "Jefferson County History and Atlas" and the detail "page xx" and then the death would be sourced as "Ibid, page yy." This looks nice on reports. Version 7 nolonger uses the "Ibid". And it does repeat the first detail used completely neglecting the following detail information. This has got to be a serious bug!!

Correct that's not what I'm asking.
The multiples sources look fine to me on reports.
Blah, blah, blah, page 1.
Ibid. page 2.

At least in the previous version. I haven't looked at the reports in version
7 because I can't seem to get multiple entries in version 7.

So how does this multiple sourcing appear in a report? And, by the way, I
can use the same source for different pieces of data (birth date, death date

for example) for one person and cite that source multiple times with
different detail, but that certainly isn't what I'm understanding you to be
saying.

Why on earth would you cite the same Source twice?

I just realized that I often do this. I might have a source of "Aunt
Sally". She might give me someone's birthdate in a letter on one date,
and the person's birthplace in a follow-up letter on a later date. I
record this as the same source with 2 different sets of details.

Since I don't have V7 installed at the moment I can't tell if this
behavior is configurable (nor can I confirm it). But I certainly
wouldn't appreciate it.
