No. They have no way of knowing what changed. Besides database structure
changes, the upgrade process may have changed values in some fields. I
remember several years ago one new release repopulated various *SDate
fields because the programmers changed the algorithm they used to
compute sorted dates.

If all that was done was add new database columns (big if), then one
might be able to use Access to muck with the database and manually undo
the changes. I would play around with GEDCOMs before trying it. Make the
GEDCOM for Legacy and make sure all export options are checked/unchecked
so everything possible gets exported.

Several months ago someone on the list had to GEDCOM export/import.
Maybe she'll chime in and offer her thoughts.
