Leo, I'm not so sure about that. One of the things to keep in mind is not only the file size, but related to it is the time it takes to upload onto the site. Pam's back-up was 44MB and she tells me it took 20 minutes to upload to Sky Drive. For those who don't know, uploading takes an awful lot more time than downloading, and compressing picture files does not have a great effect on the file size. There is also another way, which I have mentioned before. If your ISP offers free web space then FTP can be used to copy your files to their servers (if they allow enough space!).
