The woman may not have a spouse, but the baby does have a father.  That is why 
you have the ability to indicate that the woman and man did not marry.

That's not good. It takes two to make a baby, but an unmarried woman who has 
a baby does not have a spouse. I tried Charlotte's suggestion of working 
with the marriage list and it did remove the Unknown spouse, but it also 
unlinked her child.
