I can think of two options that might work; they are the closest I can come
with Legacy's standard report system.

(1)  This option does not allow inclusion of Events.  If you want your son's
surname line, all you need to do is print a vertical Lineage Report starting
with your son.  Be sure "include siblings" on the Lineage Chart screen (not the
Options screen) is checked.

If you want a maternal line, first print your son's surname to that generation,
then print another report starting with that maternal surname.

There is a text file option, so you should be able to paste the two reports to
a word processing program, with only minor editing needed (i.e., changing the
generation numbers).

(2) This option allows you to include Events and Children, but requires more
editing. Use the Ancestor Book Report, RTF or Text option, and then edit out
(in a word processing program) the ancestral lines you don't want to show.
