I am a little confused by your example of exactly what you are trying to
do. I have found a variety of ways to add/create/change events for my
needs. As to a copy and change technique, I will go to a person and click
on them to edit, then go to an existing event they have, dbl-click on an
event I want to open for editing, then just under the "help" button are 2
icons, one is 'copy to clipboard', the other is 'paste from clipboard'. I
then click on the 'copy' icon to copy the event, information, and attached
sources to the clipboard. Then close the event, click on 'add' to add new
event, when the blank event opens, click on the 'paste' icon to paste the
copied event, info, and source to this 'new' event. At this time I now
select a new event name, or create one if needed. Also delete/attach
sources as needed. Now if I want to use this same event and info for others,
I 'copy' the current event and changes to the clipboard, save the current
one, then go add it to others as I need.

Don't know if this would work for you or not. Just an example I use.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Copy Event

A search of the archives found an message thread from 2008 that said
there was no way to copy existing events in the Event Master to create
new ones. It appears this is still the case. Want to check to see if
I'm missing something. If not, this would be a great addition to
future versions ... having to retype each sentence option is a pain.
(I'm creating the missing "Alt. Marriage" and would like to use "Alt.
Birth" or "Alt. Death" as a template -- also, I want to create
"Disproven" events in the same way -- right now, this is a somewhat
laborious processes)
