Jerry, right now, Legacy doesn't have a nice way to do this. My dream
would be for the Legacy user interface to let me produce a set of
indivudals (in your example, decsendants) and drag-and-drop a selected
source onto that list of individuals. Very few clicks.

Jennifer, I'd like to know more about your experience. Right now, 75%
of my sources are attached to the unspecified event field. When I do a
Search->Find, I can can locate sources attached to the unspecified
event. Also, in the Master Source List dialog, when I select a source
and click the Show List button, it brings up the complete list of
individuals, even if the source is attached to the unspecified event.
Are you referring to another method of searching? I'm still learning,
and right now, I'm spending all my time sorting out source citations.
