As the developer of Families, I'd like to clarify the position regarding
supported Android platforms.

Families will run on devices with Android 1.6 upwards, with one known
limitation. If the device does not have Google Maps installed as standard (the
majority do) then Families requires Android 2.0 or above.

Some Android devices cannot download apps from Android Market. In this case
Families can be downloaded from SlideMe instead.

If anyone has a device which meets the above conditions but is still unable to
run Families, please contact us and we will be happy to work with you to
determine why.

does anyone know?

At this time I don't remember what app it was that is phone only, but to run
the families I had to have that app and I couldn't get it, the Android Market
is not open at this point (but I haven't checked this
week) to non phones.
