Do you have Legacy installed on the Windows side as per the instructions at www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/helpWindows7andVista.asp?
How large is the Family File? Have you run File > FIle Maintenance > Check/Repair lately? Back up the Family File (File > Backup Family File) then run the Check/Repair and see if that helps.
