Tech support said the problem had not been resolved so I didn't do anything
more about it.  But thanks, I will keep all suggestions and will need to do
something before I print the report.

Betty:

A problem like this cropped up a few years ago and may be the same as what
you’re seeing.  My recollection is that it was caused by entering data in a
certain sequence.  In my case I believe I had entered a wife’s details and a
marriage date before entering the husband’s name.  Legacy automatically adds
“someone” (which is invisible) and when the second spouse’s name is entered it
doesn’t overwrite that but just adds it as “Mary married someone John Smith” or
the reverse.  I had to delete the couple and then re-enter both husband and
wife before adding the marriage date in order to clear the “someone.”

It’s been quite a while since this happened so my memory is fuzzy, but there
was a long thread about it before the cause was discovered.

7.5.0.112    I'll check tomorrow.  Thanks.

Betty,

Check your marriage wording settings at Options>Customise>View>Edit Default
Marriage Wording (button top right). Also Check the Individual Marriage
Screen for the couple you will find the settings under the Wording Options
Tab.

BTW What Legacy version are you using, as I thought this problem had been
eradicated – certainly not seen it crop up for ages?

I had a strange thing happen a couple times.  One example is in a
descendant's report, farther down than the beginning, I read
'William M Workman married someone Margaret Gargus.'  Say what?  Where did
'someone' come from, especially with a name there!
