I use christening exlusively as on charts I can show "c" for Christening and
"b" for birth. This would become very confusing if a person had a baptism date
and no known birth date as then "b" could mean either birth or baptism.
If the person was actually baptised and not christened I show that in the
Christening notes.

"Christening" is the giving of a "Christian name" and is generally part of the
Baptismal service, at which the child is received into the Church. I'm not
sure whether adults being baptised into Christian churches where infant
baptism/christening is the norm are also christened.

As many people nowadays shun Christian baptism but opt for a "naming ceremony"
I think it would helpful if Legacy offered 2 events in place of the one -
Christening/Naming and Baptism. Users could then choose to enter data in
either or both, as appropriate.
