For encryption on my laptop I use TrueCrypt.  It's powerful, effective, easy, 
and best of all it's free.

Howdy..

Anyone encrypt or some way privatize their data ? Mainly laptops or thumb 
drives ? My laptop goes everywhere with me. It A bit inconveient at times, but 
it never leaves my side, even at the car repair. Looks strange when going to 
the film isle at the FHL. I just bought a netbook to make it a little more 
convenient as possible. I now take my Flip-Pal for the books, maps, etc.. The 
cases are about the same size with shoulder straps :-) After reading the below, 
I give my cloud storage encrypted personal data.
