The way I normally do this is to select and copy the notes using windows "Copy" Ctl+C [places copy on clipboard]
Switch to the other database (not split screen) by just file open other database select the person you want open their notes windows "Paste" Ctl+V [copies from clipboard] you can use the "Paste" option as many times as you want until you use another "Copy". If you want to move the text from one family file to another use "Cut" Ctl+x instead of Copy Alan From: Robert E. I am trying to: 1> Open Collins, paste some notes. 2> Split the window and go to the "other" screen. 3> I try to enter data on the "other" screen, but it refuses to let me because I have the notes open. Any way to leave the notes open and enter data? Thank you. Robert Genealogy without documentation is mythology! Always SOURCE your work.
