Robert, According to the error number: • Backup Error 3163 This error is caused if the zip file being created reaches the 2GB maximum file size that is allowed in Windows.
So how big is the GEDCOM file you are trying to import? If you imported it into a new family file then you could just merge that new family file into your working file. Have you tried that?
