I know some people like RIN numbers and use them a lot. I also know that they
are important for internal functioning, but I have never found them useful in my
use of Legacy. I don't display them in the name list. Instead, I show the User
ID, which is very useful for me.

When I want to know how many people are in a Legacy file, I open the Name List
and turn off the options to include alternate and married names. The total
number of individuals is in the top line on the screen and this should be an
unduplicated count..

Subject: [LegacyUG] RIN numbers

I know this question is really going to be on the top of everyone's
dumb list, but the RIN numbers, if I put them in numerical order, will
that tell me how many people I have on my family tree?

Aside from not knowing Legacy at all, I am really good at researching :)
