If in your purse, I would encrypt it. Identity theft. If you loose that particular device, or purse ..... I am fortunate, I have my bank with a safety box about two minutes from my home. I am just limited by their hours. For me, $28 dollars a year is worth it. As I have mentioned in other posts, I use two portable hard drives that cycle back and forth from my bank.
