I was not suggesting that you use OOo, you already made it clear that you did not wish to, but that you break you Excel file into smaller sections which Goggle etc. might be able to handle.
I understood from your post that you wished to enter the Excel File(s?) into Families using your iPad which you could subsequently sync with Legacy. Apparently not.
