You have great grandparents (8 people). You have great great grandparents (16 people). Such a tree grows exponentially and will eventually become impossibly high. Over 23 generations going back to the 1300 Century, have 2²³ (2 to 23 power) or roughly 8 million ancestors. ( Someone will probably correct my math. However, a lot of ancestors ).
