Not wishing to rain on your parade, but if you only use the these location variations in dated events _and_ sort those events by date, doesn't this amount to much like what you're asking for? At least, that's how I think Millennia will view things. For me, I'd like to see something for locations along the lines of the AKA for names. Although, again, Millennia would probably say that's what the Notes field in the Master Location record is for.
