I am so appreciative of everyone's help. I am home now and will be trying some of these things shortly. I really hope I can resolve it. I have received word that my mother is declining rapidly. I know it may not seem like this software issue should be the forefront of my mind, but my family relies on me as the family historian, and there are going to be so many questions from everyone who will be around in the next few days--questions that I can happily answer if I just can get into my software. So, that's why it will be priority for me to try to resolve this very soon.
