This is true but I think the OP said she was (re)installing the Legacy program 
from a v6 CD that she had. I don't think she moved the .FDB from the CD to the 
hard drive. Even still, the .FDB should open....just incapable of being edited 
or changed.

Your .fdb or other files be set to Read Only if you moved software using a CD.
