Mike,

Like any large group of people you will find gripers, whiners, dreamers,
realists, pragmatists, all levels from beginners to professionals. Mostly,
the group is very helpful, positive and upbeat. Eventually, you will learn
which are which and you can ignore the ones you don't like.

You have lots to learn. A good place to begin is here:
http://legacynews.typepad.com/legacy_news/legacy-tips-for-beginning-legacy-users.html

Just use the help files, beginning with the Legacy Help Contents
page. Legacy is like duct tape - deceptively simple and easy to use in many
different ways.
You can customize it to use your way.

Learn a little about the basics, importing, and particularly using Sources
so you don't have to go in later and do extra cleanup work. I learned that
the hard way.

Hope this helps,

Larry Lee
