Back up the Family File (File > Backup Family File) then do a File >
File Maintenance > Check/Repair. After that do a File > File
Maintenance > Compact Family File.

After doing that, please update to the latest build 7.5.0.268.

That should speed things up

Also, it never hurts to run a good Windows clean-up utility like CCleaner.
