Thank you all. I did as Sherry suggested. I had done the File Maintenance before, but did not do the Compact Family File. Added the New Build. For Jay I am using ani7 processor 3770 3.4 GH with 1 TB HD with 801 GB free, 8 GB Ram and Win 8. It seems faster not as sluggish. Will play with it some more. At least I am not experiencing the great delay I was. I was attributing a lot of it to Win 8, which I could do without Thank you. Hope their update cleans it up a lot.
Again Thank you all for your help and advise. I concur. On Windows/7, the Microsoft Security Essentials runs at the most inopportune times, hogging one or more of the processors. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg (g) Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
