If you use the List Style formatting, you can't change the order, per Sherry. I have done something similar to what you are asking for using the Sentence Style formatting. It doesn't put things in columns, but I have fiddled with the sentence definitions to add spaces to approximate a column for the event name and have the date lined up with the location and description following in the same "column"..
