Hi All, My iPhone has a built in compass which works anywhere even where there is no phone signal. On the bottom of the display its shows Latitude and Longitude. It's important to make sure you record the lat and long as well as the Geodetic Datum, as different parts on the Earth require their individual Datums because the Earth is not perfectly round. I live in Australia, we started using WGS then ADG and now the most up to date is GDA. I don't know the iPhone method of storing the Datum also I don't know whether to use the Compass on True North or Magnetic North and as well the reading can be Latitude degrees, Minutes, Seconds or Lat/Long decimal degrees. I, hoping some of the group can add to this.
