Dee, I use WIN 7, 64 bit and run Legacy 8 without problems
Other posts have mentioned the paths, but nothing to worry about just let Legacy instal to the defaults. For the program this is in Program Files X86. The data will be in Users\Documents\ Yr Name\Legacy Family Tree. I make no comment on WIN 8 which I have never used.
