With regard to customization settings, these are NOT overwritten with each
release of version 8. Your 7.5 settings are not automatically brought over,
but once you get version 8 customized to your liking, they are not overwritten
by new releases, unless you explicitly tell it to reset to System Defaults.

Does that mean everything in Customize will be "reset" with each update and
then have to be reconfigured? Still pondering when to update to v8, and this
would make a big difference to me.

The way the program is structured, it's not possible to send out "patches" to
update. The full setup file must be downloaded.

Because of all the additional features in v8, the setup file is much larger
than it was with v7.5

Wondering why it should be necessary to download the full 60+MB of program and
then re-install the program just to take care of an update.

Reason I ask is although I do have a very large data allowance each month, not
everyone is so lucky.

Also, I don't recall having to download that large a file to update 7.5
(although that could have more to do with possibly no updates between my
purchase of 7.5 and the release of 8)
