Here's another tip that might go some way to avoiding opening the wrong, similarly named file. Using the Windows Open dialog, make sure that the dialog is using the Details view and that it shows the 'Date modified' field. Now, click on the column heading to sort the files according to when they were last modified. If you make sure that the 'direction' glyph points downwards, your files will listed from the most recently saved to the earliest. Thus, your latest working files should always be near the top of the list. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg (g) Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
