I use both a Residence Event and an Address Event. The first is for
when I only know the Parish or Town and the second for when I know the
address down to street (or sometimes house name and village). I record
the full address in the Location field.

For something like a Census or a Death where the Event takes place at a
particular residence I include the Location in the Event but when an
abode is mentioned elsewhere - such as in a Baptism Register or on a
Marriage Certificate, for example - I create a Residence or Address Event.

If I have some way of knowing that someone lived in a particular place
for a continuous period of time then I express this in the Date field,
but because I know someone lived at a certain address on one date and
again at a later date doesn't necessarily mean that they lived there
continuously. If I have a series of dates with the same address I can
say in a Report something like "he appears to have lived at X from Y to Z."
