I use both a Residence Event and an Address Event. The first is for when I only know the Parish or Town and the second for when I know the address down to street (or sometimes house name and village). I record the full address in the Location field. For something like a Census or a Death where the Event takes place at a particular residence I include the Location in the Event but when an abode is mentioned elsewhere - such as in a Baptism Register or on a Marriage Certificate, for example - I create a Residence or Address Event. If I have some way of knowing that someone lived in a particular place for a continuous period of time then I express this in the Date field, but because I know someone lived at a certain address on one date and again at a later date doesn't necessarily mean that they lived there continuously. If I have a series of dates with the same address I can say in a Report something like "he appears to have lived at X from Y to Z." -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
