There are three possibilities throughout v8 with the Exc key ...

1. Exit without warning
2. Exit with warning
3. Nothing

Keyboard users need to use caution due to these inconsistencies and others like
my favourite beef with tab orders in the various windows ...

The mouse is safer which is really unfortunate ... I tend to be 50/50
mouse/keyboard which is fine in all apps except Legacy.

Confirmed. Problem report raised to have this fixed. I also found several other
screens where the Escape Key closed the screen without warning and allowing the
user to save their changes so I added those to the issue.
