Cathy,
I solved the problem by unlinking the parents from the daughter and,
after trial & error, added the parents in one by one. I tried adding
parents but got the duplicates again (BTW... when I ran a search for the
duplicates they did not exist). So, I went to the marriage list, found
the duplicate couple & deleted them. The duplicate parents had the same
ID numbers but two different marriage numbers.

How I tagged the "unlinked"? I went to the Tree view & tagged all the
trees that were not on my personal tree with a tag number. I then went
to each tree that was tagged & made sure it was intended to be
unlinked. That's when I found my 6Xgreat grandparents unlinked & the
whole problem started.

Originally I thought they were simply unlinked but one pair did show up
in my file.

How & why it happened, I don't know...but glad to have it fixed. Have
checked & double checked...they are properly in my file with the proper
relationship. <G>

Thanks,
Sally
