I am not a pro, but, I do NOT use very many abbreviations or postal codes and when I do, I do not use any periods. The two letter codes for states are not abbreviations but are "Postal Codes". The abbreviation is still Mich, not MI.
When one uses the postal code CA, there are at least 3 different locations World wide that uses this code. As for a period following an initial, I do not use them either. As they do mess up things on SOME search engines. It seems that in this computer age, we could safely omit those periods. It won't cause any concerns for search engines, right? Is there a way to turn off the suggestion in Legacy 8 so as not to be reminded if periods are not used in abbreviations? I'm not speaking of place names - I realize those names should be completely spelled out for accuracy (ie, don't use USA, MI, Mich, etc).
