Hi Jay, Take a look at the Merge Options. See Compatible Gender? Are you saying this isn't working?
I don't think there is a way to stop parent-child suggestions. However, when you find them, mark them as "not duplicates" and they'll never come up again unless you clear your not duplicates list.
