I am using the newest update of the Legacy program.

I decided that it was time to do some "major" clean up work in my family
file... and one of the things that I am doing is checking to see that
events that are marked private are really supposed to be private. I have a
tendency to "grab" a bunch of information when I can go to a genealogy
website on either ancestry or family search, copying and pasting the
information into an event named "Found" with the idea that I will go back
and put that information into the appropriate event. The "Found" event is
marked private because until I deal with it, I don't want the information
to print in a report. If I just change the event name, I don't always
remember to change the private spot. That is the reason I am going back
over my work to make sure census information, etc is not marked private so
that it will show.

I do have some events that are marked private automatically, i.e. medical
because there are certain things that family members do not want mentioned
in a report or they wish them to be private until after their death. They
remain medical events and I have discovered that these events that are
automatically private can not be made not private. Is anyone else noticing
this? And is that the way it is supposed to be? I can go through and
change the event name to something else if that is the only way I can make
them not private.

Thanks for your help.

Gail
