I'm getting a LOT of food for thought out of this discussion. I think I started doing it - using census as an event as well as a source - by following someone else's recommendation. That said, I think the thing I might "miss" by discontinuing the practice is a quick reference to which censuses I have recorded - although I could look at the sources for that.
Previous versions allowed me to highlight individual details for each person that I attached the same event or source too. That way I could view the source or event and see which portions of the census data applied to that individual. But that is gone now anyway :-/ A source actually gives a faster view of the details now. A census as an event will also appear in a timeline where a source will not. You could add a residence event but if I already have all the census details on the clipboard I suppose it is just faster to use that. Great comments everyone :-).
