Jenny,
You aren't using a Description field so make sure you've put the Event
Sentence code you created in the right place - Date and Place only. It's
working fine for me.
Your date should be entered "from 26 August 1907 to 18 December 1908"

The fact that Legacy does not use the "From" to precede a date range
when [fromDate] is used is the problem you should enter in Mantis. I
can confirm that with a date to date format the sentence does not use
"From date to date".

Ah! Should have thought of that.
However ... I've corrected my input to use space-to-space instead of
the hyphen I was using and now I don't get any prefix to the dates!
So can I only have either a date range or a from date, but not a "from
date to date"?

Jenny,
The format you used for the date range is not in the list of
acceptable formats. That may explain why Legacy is not using the
correct sentence.
Here is an extract from the help topic 9-1077 on entering dates.
Date Ranges
If you need to enter a range of dates, Legacy recognizes the following
formats:
To
12 Dec 1888 to 6 Jan 1889
1888 to 1892
7 Jun to 9 Jun 1888
12 Dec to 15 Dec 1800
From / To
From 12 Dec 1888 to 6 Jan 1889
From 1888 to 1892
From Dec 1800 to 13 Dec 1805
From 23 Dec 1800 to Oct 1805
From 12 Dec to 15 Dec 1800
Between / and
Between 12 Dec 1888 and 6 Jan 1889
Between 1500 and April 1600
Between 1 and 12 Feb 1658

I edited the Event Sentence for Education so that if only Date and
Place were entered, the sentence reads [fromDate] [HeShe] attended
[Place].[Sources][CR][Notes].
I input the date as 26 August 1907-18 December 1908 and the location
of the school but the Sentence reads "on 26 August 1907-18 December
1908 she attended Owler Lane Junior School, Sheffield, Yorkshire,
England."
Can others duplicate this error in dating? If so, I will report it as
a bug.
