Phil Grace,
You are really looking for .fdb files or data backup zip files.
All the other associated files can be reconstructed as you use legacy.
All the actual data is saved in the FDB file.
You do need to also find your media, if any. You may be looking for a
media backup zip or the individual files.
You'll need to open any Legacy 8 files in Legacy 9 but there's no
problem doing that. Legacy 9 is Legacy 8 with a few new features. You
can't have Legacy 8 and Legacy 9 installed on the same computer.
Unless you are happier working with Legacy 7.5, I'd just open your
Legacy 7.5 file with Legacy 9 as well and clean it up there.
FDB files are opened. Data Backup ZIP files are restored using File >
Restore File. Media backup zips have to be manually unzipped/files
extracted using Windows File Explorer.

Hello all ! Hope you are well.
My old desktop XP system has died, but fortunately I had done a full
backup (the whole system including the entire 'C' drive) before it
expired. I subsequently bought a new desktop (which is Windows 10) and
then had great difficulty in re-opening the saved XP info - which was
in the form of a .BKF file, on an old external hard drive.
I've had the local IT techs. transfer the saved/backed-up files to a
new external hard drive but now cannot find or workout which are the
necessary (old) Legacy files, so I can copy them into a newly
downloaded Legacy 7.5 program on the new (Windows 10) desktop.
Could any one please suggest how I might resurrect my old (XP) Legacy
info. onto the new (W10) platform, if indeed such a thing is possible ?
Many thanks, stay safe.....Phil Grace
P.S. If such an exercise is possible, I will similarly need to
resurrect a couple of old (XP) Legacy 8 files in the same way. The
eventual goal being to tidy up the resurrected L7.5 and L8 files for
transfer to the new Legacy9 Deluxe version I installed on the new
(W10) desktop.
